WHY I AM RUNNING FOR MAYOR
I am not a career politician. I’m the son of immigrants who came to this country with nothing, and I’ve spent my life building businesses and giving back. I believe in the American Dream because I’ve lived it.
But today, too many New Yorkers are being priced out, shut out, or left behind. Crime is up. Schools are failing. The cost of living is out of control. The city is being mismanaged at every level—and working families are paying the price.
I’m running for mayor to fix it. To restore order, raise standards, and deliver real results. This isn’t about politics. It’s about purpose. If you love this city like I do, then let’s get to work.

Joseph Hernandez came to the U.S. as a Cuban refugee with nothing but determination. Raised in a working-class family, he built a successful career launching companies that improve lives — and now he’s stepping up to fix what City Hall has failed to deliver: safety, affordability, and leadership that works.
Restore law and order across all five boroughs. Hire 10,000 officers, crack down on repeat offenders, and enforce real NYPD accountability.
Fast-track 100,000 affordable housing units. Lower daily costs, protect renters, and support working families with targeted relief.
Invest in Pre-K, after-school programs, and school-based mental health. Raise teacher pay and expand career-ready education.
Expand mobile crisis teams, long-term psychiatric treatment, and transitional housing. Integrate services to get New Yorkers the care they need.
Coordinate federal support, streamline services, and protect neighborhoods with structure, accountability, and compassion.
Deploy daily cleanup crews, hold businesses accountable, enforce vagrancy laws, and preserve parks and public spaces.
Repave streets, enforce traffic laws, and improve subway safety with clear rules and reliable service for every New Yorker.
Launch a public-private AI hub, roll out smart-city tools, and create jobs with innovative infrastructure and real-time crime monitoring.
Support local artists, boost NYC’s creative economy, and attract film and cultural production with expanded incentives.
